We're fixing the old double-hung windows in our 1920s craftsman house. The previous owner slathered on modern paint, sealing them shut. We're carefully steaming and scraping to free the sashes, repurposing the original brass hardware, and reglazing an arched transom. It's slow work, but seeing light come through properly restored panes is worth every minute of chipping and glazing putty.
